POSITION: Station Manager, Radio 1RPH, Crace ACT

This part-time position (20 hours per week) is based at Crace, ACT. This is a fixed term commencing on engagement and will end on 30 June 2026 (extension subject to funding performance and availability). During this period, the Station Manager will focus on those aspects of the duties relating to the generation of income and the management of the station’s finances and grants.

Salary packaging: Clerks Level 5, $40 per hour, equivalent to $68k pro rata per annum, plus12% super.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will have experience in:

  • Engaging with people.
  • Working collaboratively, to build and sustain effective relationships.
  • Working in a community organisation – Desirably, in community broadcasting, but if not, then the successful applicant will be required to undertake training.


We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate the following essential skills and attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisational and Management skills.
  • Ability to identify solutions and exercise sound judgement.
  • Ability to represent Radio 1RPH at meetings with community groups and funding providers, including ability to travel to meetings outside Canberra.
  • Proficiency with office information technology systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritise work and manage competing priorities.


Duties

Responsibilities of the position include:

·         Reporting to the President for daily operations.

·         Overseeing the Station’s compliance with broadcasting laws and laws relating to financial and human resources management of a non-profit organisation in the ACT.

·         Accountability for the preparation of grant applications and the administration and acquittal of grant funds.

·         Managing a mainly volunteer workforce.

·         Participate in Management Committee meetings, providing reports of achievement and highlighting areas needing attention.

·         Collaboration with a bookkeeper to manage accounts.

·         Overseeing maintenance of the condition of 1RPH studios and offices.

The successful applicant will be required to hold or apply to obtain a Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card for employment in the ACT.

Please note that the studios and offices are located at Crace ACT, which is not served by public transport; hence, the successful applicant should have access to their own transport.

This position will have a performance agreement which shall be reviewed in the first 3 months of the contract.
