There’s a lot women stop sharing once life gets complicated. The questions that keep them up at night, the curveballs they didn’t see coming, the moments that don’t quite fit the picture they imagined.
iHeart’s new original vodcast, (OVER)SHARE, is creating space for those conversations, bringing together journalist, writer and content creator Phoebe Burgess and Below Deck star Hannah Ferrier for honest discussions about the realities of modern life.
Launching this morning, (OVER)SHARE explores the topics that women are really talking about – love, relationships, family, friendship, identity, careers, sex, body image and everything in between, with unfiltered honesty, warmth and of course some humour along the way.
In each episode of this video-first premium vodcast (OVER)SHARE tackles a question many women have asked themselves, opening up honest and nuanced conversations about life’s biggest transitions and uncertainties. Season one explores topics including Who Am I If I’m Not Someone’s Wife?, Can You Be a Good Mum and Still Miss Your Old Life? and Can You Leave a Life That Looks Fine from the Outside?
Speaking on the launch of (OVER)SHARE, Phoebe Burgess said, “I’ve felt a kind of limbo women can drift into once we’ve moved through our Announcement Era – of love, engagements, marriages, babies, births, career moves, more babies – where you suddenly realise you are in the life, in the family and in the career you’ve been manifesting, and most likely posting, for a lifetime. It’s also a time our biggest life bombs can suddenly go off. Threatening the future you thought was yours and you thought you wanted. Whether it’s a divorce or an identity crisis, a judgmental school mum or a confronting headline, a non-existent sex life or career overhaul, new boobs or a parenting fail, (OVER)SHARE is the podcast right there sorting through the rubble with you, asking “Ok, what now?”. Hannah and I want answers, and we’re not afraid to ask. Digging into tumultuous and frankly, hilarious decades of lessons learned, we’ll navigate limbo by doing what women do best – share.”
Co-host Hannah Ferrier said, “Phoebe and I have both lived enough life to know that nobody really has it all figured out — especially when it comes to relationships, parenting and everything that comes with being a woman. (OVER)SHARE is about having the conversations we’re already having with our friends but saying the quiet parts out loud. We’ll talk about the good, the bad, the messy and the downright ridiculous, and hopefully make people laugh along the way. Most importantly, we want women listening to feel like they’re not alone in whatever they’re navigating.”
ARN’s Chief Content Director Kerri Elstub added, “We’re incredibly excited to launch (OVER)SHARE as part of our growing iHeart original podcast slate. Phoebe and Hannah bring a rare combination of honesty, warmth and lived experience to conversations that so many women are having behind closed doors but don’t often hear reflected in mainstream media. This series tackles important topics with authenticity, humour and heart, creating a space where listeners can feel seen, understood and connected. We’re really proud to partner with two powerful voices to bring these conversations to life and continue expanding the range of premium Australian content available across the iHeart platform.”
In the first two episodes, Phoebe and Hannah introduce who they really are by unpacking the headlines written about them and the most Googled terms associated with their names. Together, they explore what feels true, what feels inaccurate, what’s been left out, and what they wish people knew before forming an opinion. In doing so, they set out to answer a compelling question: how much of the person portrayed in the media is actually the person sitting across from you?
One of the most unique features of the series, which will continue to evolve as the audience grows, is its listener integration. Through the “I’ll Share If You Share” segment, listeners will be invited to submit anonymous confessions, dilemmas, voice notes and personal stories, helping shape the discussion in each episode.
(OVER)SHARE forms part of ARN’s growing entertainment ecosystem and will be available across all major podcast platforms and is supported by vodcast content on YouTube and iHeart, social cutdowns across iHeart channels and on-air integration across the KIIS Network.
New episodes of (OVER)SHARE will be released every Monday and can be streamed via the free iHeart app or wherever you get your podcasts, as well as YouTube and social channels.
