Connect 100.9FM has a long history of servicing the diverse listening communities of Bankstown and Auburn through our programming and community activities.

The station operates 24/7 and programs at Connect 100.9FM are produced in our state of the art studios in Padstow, NSW. We broadcast in numerous languages and our volunteers are committed to presenting content that is engaging and connects with our local community.

Through our diverse programming, Connect 100.9FM attracts listeners around Australia and the world. We believe in skill development, with all of our volunteers trained by our organisation and the Community Media Training Organisation.

Board renewal

Connect 100.9FM is seeking a qualified and experienced Treasurer to:

  • Provide financial leadership to the board
  • Oversee grant applications and reporting
  • Provide strategic financial advice to the board
  • Oversee financial reporting to the board
  • Oversee budgets
  • Liaise with auditors and accountant
  • Knowledge of working in the charity or not for profit sectors
  • Accounting qualifications, MYOB software experience and spreadsheet ability
  • Support fundraising and revenue diversification for long-term sustainability of organisation
  • Ensure compliance with the Australian Charity and Not for Profits Commission and
    Australian Securities and regulatory requirements and Government departments

Additional requirements

The role requires strategic skills, strong collaboration and a deep commitment to advancing local knowledge via community broadcasting. Other demonstrated skills required for the role include: 

  • Personal integrity, energy, strong ethics and a commitment to our values
  • Experience in driving growth and scaling up an organisation, particularly a not for profit
  • Grant writing and reporting
  • Corporate governance and/or board experience 
  • Director experience, ideally with AICD or GIA membership

Time commitment

The role is voluntary, for a two-year term and will involve actively participating in monthly board meetings and, where possible, attending CONNECT FM events. On average, the Treasurer commits to 2 to 3 days per month to the role, including all reading and preparation time.

Due to our current constitution, candidates must live in the CONNECT 100.9 FM Broadcast area. This is comprised of the following suburbs: Auburn, Bankstown, Bass Hill, Berala, Birrong, Chester Hill, Condell Park, East Hills, Georges Hall, Greenacre, Homebush Bay, Lansdowne, Lidcombe, Milperra, Mount Lewis, Newington, Padstow, Padstow Heights, Panania, Picnic Point, Regents Park, Revesby, Revesby Heights, Sefton, Silverwater, Villawood, Yagoona,
