Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has maintained its position as Australia’s leading audio network, delivering a strong performance in the GfK Radio Survey 5. SCA – with the combined force of Triple M, the Hit Network, and ACE Radio – has a 36.9% commercial share in the key 25-54 demographic, 10.3 share points clear of the nearest competitor, and has now secured its 33rd consecutive survey win in the ‘Audience That Matters.’* SCA has achieved the ‘25-54 trifecta’ – Number 1 network for Women (the Hit Network), Number 1 network for Men (Triple M), and Number 1 network all People 25-54 – further cementing its dominance in the demographic.
Triple M recorded standout results across the country, led by Brisbane and Adelaide. In Brisbane, Marto, Margaux & Dan lifted their audience to a 13.8% share – Triple M Brisbane’s best Breakfast share result since survey 8, 2018. Roo, Ditts & Loz cemented their position as Adelaide’s powerhouse Breakfast show, increasing to a 14.8% share, as Triple M Adelaide reclaimed the position as the Number 1 station in the city.
In Melbourne, SCA has emerged as a strong force in the Melbourne radio market, now with the #1 station and #2 station for People 25-54 with Triple M and 101.9 The Fox, respectively. 105.1 Triple M Melbourne has had strong growth in Breakfast, with Mick in the Morning with Roo, Titus & Rosie up to a 7.7% share, a second consecutive survey increase. The Rush Hour with JB & Billy prove their unmatched chemistry resonates across AFL states in Drive (4pm-6pm), ranking #2 in Melbourne with a 10.6% share (10+), while in Adelaide, the duo is #1 on a 13.7% share (up 1.5 share points). Triple M’s Lu & Jarch is also making their mark nationally, taking the #1 position in the 2pm–4pm timeslot and delivering the network’s best result in that time slot since 2018, with a 10.4% share.
As AFL finals approach, Triple M remains the home of footy, reaching 706,000 listeners (10+) across Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth each weekend. In rugby league heartland, Triple M also holds the Number 1 position for NRL coverage, with 434,000 listeners (10+) in Sydney and Brisbane.**
On the Hit Network, 101.9 The Fox posted the biggest commercial audience growth in Melbourne (10+), climbing to 1.152 million weekly listeners (up 27,000). The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick is Melbourne’s second most-listened-to Breakfast show with 612,000 listeners. B105, headlined by Stav, Abby & Matt in Breakfast, posted a solid result in Brisbane, as the Number 2 station in the city (11.8% share) and growing its audience to 654,000 listeners (up 16,000 listeners).
