The organisation 

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) is a leading member based, for purpose organisation. We provide programs and services that aim to strengthen the capacity and sustainability of over 450 community radio and media organisations.

With over five million listeners each week, community radio plays a vital role in providing a voice for multicultural, First Nations and other underrepresented groups, as well as supporting independent and emerging musicians, and communities not adequately serviced by other media services.

The role 

As part of our Content team, you will play a key role in processing audio content for the Community Radio Network (CRN), AMRAP (Australian Music Radio Airplay Project), News and Powerd Media.

You will work alongside team members and interact with content makers, artists and their representatives to distribute quality content.

Your passion for Australian Music, Content and Community Media will enable you to excel and support our energetic and dedicated content team. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Audio Processing 
  • Responding to enquiries 
  • Assisting with project tasks, events, presentations and reports 
  • Supporting CBAA content operations and live broadcasts as required 
  • Assisting with music programs to widen audience reach  
  • Suggesting Australian music, artists and producers etc. to other teams to assist with social media, EDMs and website output. 

 
Your success profile will include: 

  • Relevant qualifications and or equivalent work experience, basic audio operations including editing skills (Adobe Audition or similar) 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Passion for community broadcasting and Australian music 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, multitask and meet deadlines 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Understanding and familiarisation in the utilisation of databases and or CRM systems 
  • Demonstrated attention to detail 
  • Willingness to use/learn a range of online tools (Salesforce, MS Office suite etc.)  
  • Ability to work outside standard hours when required.
