Unravel: Mr Big a winner in the big apple

ABC true crime sensation Unravel: Mr Big has been awarded a NY Festivals Radio Award in New York.

Unravel: Mr Big was awarded a silver in the Investigative Journalism Podcast category at the NY Festival Radio Awards, part of the New York Festivals which honour screen and audio content from around the world.

ABC Head of Audio on Demand Jessica Radburn said: “We are thrilled that Unravel: Mr Big has been recognised globally. It’s an incredibly bingeable series grounded in excellence in investigative journalism.”

In this gripping true crime podcast which premiered in 2024, a scratchy recorded tape introduces a confident-sounding man who boasts of his influence with corrupt police. He sounds like a crime boss, or some kind of underworld Mr Big. He says he can help make problems with the law go away. But first, he wants the truth about a murder.

But who is Mr Big? In this 7-part series presenter Alicia Bridges uncovers a world of lies and subterfuge, where very few things are as they seem. The recording leads her deep inside an international controversy, to a world of secrets that powerful institutions don’t want revealed.

Audiences can listen to every episode of Unravel: Mr Big as well as other seasons of the award winning Unravel podcast on ABC listen.
