9News Queensland\u00a0presenter,\u00a0Melissa Downes\u00a0and producer\u00a0Jess Lodge, added another gong to their collection, for their podcast sensation\u00a0Hannah\u2019s Story, at the 2024 Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The powerhouse team were awarded for their top-tier investigative journalism, taking out\u00a0Podcast of the Year (National)<\/em>, with Jess Lodge also taking home the title of\u00a0Best Podcast Producer (National)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Hannah\u2019s Story<\/em>, presented by\u00a09News Queensland<\/em>\u00a0presenter\u00a0Melissa Downes<\/strong>, produced by\u00a09News Queensland\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0Jessica Lodge<\/strong>, and edited by\u00a0Adam Buncher\u00a0<\/strong>of\u00a09Podcasts<\/em>, has become the benchmark for\u00a09News<\/em>\u00a0podcasts since its release in 2023.<\/p>\n

Hannah\u2019s Story\u00a0<\/em>delivered a compelling account of domestic violence, focusing on one of the most horrifying cases in Australia\u2019s history; the horrific murder of Hannah Clarke and her three children by her estranged husband Rowan Baxter. Its powerful storytelling has raised awareness and ignited important conversations about coercive control, extending beyond the ears of listeners, now playing a pivotal role in education initiatives.<\/p>\n

The true crime-hit has been recognised previously for its riveting storytelling, winning the Mid-Year Walkley Award for Excellence in Reporting on Violence Against Women, the Kennedy Award for Outstanding Podcast, the Australian Podcast Spotlight Award, as well as the prestigious Gold Award at the New York Festival Radio Awards.<\/p>\n
