International intent is just as strong – 47% of History consumers, 43% of Health & Fitness and 42% of Technology consumers are planning overseas holiday travel in the same period. For airlines, hotels, travel insurance and booking platforms, podcasting delivers exactly the consumer who is already in the travel mindset.2

Australian Podcast Ranker top five genres August 2026

Genre

Monthly Listeners

1

News

5,004,420

2

Society & Culture

4,188,799

3

Sports

3,548,536

4

True Crime

2,532,392

5

Comedy

2,502,386

Australian Podcast Ranker top five podcasts August 2026

Podcast

Producer

Monthly Listeners

1

Mamamia Out Loud

Mamamia

855,821

2

Hamish & Andy

LiSTNR (SCA)

849,854

3

ABC News Top Stories

ABC

626,291

4

Life UnCut

LiSTNR (SCA)

480,519

5

Conversations

ABC

476,145

Sources: 1. The Infinite Dial 2026, Edison Research.
