Australia\u2019s undisputed queen of pop,\u00a0Kylie Minogue<\/strong>, will be honoured with the prestigious\u00a0Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a02025 APRA Music Awards<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0Wednesday 30 April.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Known around the world by her single moniker,\u00a0Kylie<\/strong>, Minogue is\u00a0one of Australia\u2019s most prolific artists and greatest musical exports<\/strong>\u00a0creating captivating songs and inspiring generations of songwriters for almost 40 years since the iconic \u201cThe Locomotion\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0back in 1987, which was the first of a string of hits that defined a generation including \u201cI Should Be So Lucky\u201d,\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cConfide in Me\u201d,\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cSpinning Around\u201d, \u201cLove At First Sight\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0\u201cSlow\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Throughout her career, Minogue has released a prolific\u00a017<\/strong>\u00a0studio albums<\/strong>, performed ABBA\u2019s \u201cDancing Queen\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0at the closing ceremony of the 2000\u00a0Sydney Olympics<\/strong>\u00a0and in 2001 her career-defining single, \u201cCan\u2019t Get You Out Of My Head\u201d,\u00a0<\/strong>reached\u00a0<\/strong>number one in 40 countries.<\/p>\n

With 2020\u2019s album\u00a0Disco<\/strong><\/i>\u00a0she became the only female artist in the UK to have a\u00a0No.1 album in five consecutive decades<\/strong>. In 2023 she released her No.1 album,\u00a0Tension<\/strong><\/i>, which featured the international smash hit single\u00a0\u201cPadam Padam\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>and earned Minogue a second Grammy Award.<\/p>\n

Today, she is\u00a0one of the most successful Australian recording artists of all time<\/strong>, with sales in excess of 80 million albums, two Grammys, four Brit Awards, eighteen ARIA Music Awards, two MTV Music Video Awards, and both\u00a0The Order of Australia\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0The Order of the British Empire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hitting the\u00a0APRA Music Awards stage<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0Wednesday 30 April<\/strong>\u00a0will be an eclectic mix of songwriters and performers from across the musical spectrum. Super group\u00a0DENNI, TAIJA\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Zaya\u00a0<\/strong>will bring their blend of hip-hop fire to the stage while Filipino Australian singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist,\u00a0Dylan Atlantis<\/strong>, and fellow creator\u00a0FRIDAY*<\/strong>\u00a0will be getting everyone into a soulful groove.<\/p>\n

Melbourne six-piece alt rockers,\u00a0Gut Health<\/strong>, will get everyone on their feet with their queer rave culture inspired post-punk floor-fillers, while social media sensation and rising star,\u00a0Jude York<\/strong>, will be bringing his own brand of captivating performance that has seen him skyrocket to popularity over the past year.<\/p>\n

Crowd favourites\u00a0Lior<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Sarah Blasko<\/strong>\u00a0will return to the awards stage and Arnhem Land\u2019s first all-female rock group,\u00a0Ripple Effect Band<\/strong>, and Sydney\u2019s indie-pop darling,\u00a0tiffi,<\/strong>\u00a0will light up the room for their first-time APRA Awards performances.<\/p>\n

Two awards are presented ahead of the night, the\u00a02025 Licensee of the Year<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Most Performed International Work.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 2025\u00a0Licensee of the Year<\/strong>\u00a0is\u00a0Lazybones Lounge Restaurant & Bar.\u00a0<\/strong>This award acknowledges and rewards the contribution of licensees to APRA members as good music citizens. As a strong supporter of live music, Sydney Inner West hot spot Lazybones goes beyond the basics by fostering a musician-friendly environment, emphasising their respect and support for live performers.<\/p>\n

Tate McRae<\/strong>\u00a0and co-writers\u00a0Amy Allen, Jasper Harris and Ryan Tedder<\/strong>\u00a0have taken out\u00a0Most Performed International Work<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0“Greedy”<\/strong>, the smash hit lead single from her second studio album\u00a0Think Later.<\/strong><\/i><\/p>\n

The APRA Music Awards celebrate excellence in contemporary music<\/strong>, honouring songwriters and publishers who have achieved artistic excellence and outstanding success in their fields.<\/p>\n

The winners of all nominated categories, plus the\u00a0International Recognition Award, Most Performed Australian Work Overseas\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Songwriter of the Year<\/strong>\u00a0will be announced at the awards ceremony at\u00a0Melbourne Town Hall\u00a0<\/strong>on\u00a0Wednesday 30 April.<\/strong>
