The highest honour award recognises outstanding presentation, original research \/ writing, sound design and boundary-pushing material that showcases the very best of what Australian podcasting can achieve.<\/p>\n<p>Presented by Yumi Stynes,\u00a0<em>Ladies, We Need To Talk<\/em>\u00a0also beat a strong shortlist including stablemate triple j\u2019s\u00a0<em>The Hook Up\u00a0<\/em>to take home the category prize.<\/p>\n<p>Myf Warhurst and Zan Rowe, two of Australia\u2019s most respected and most loved music journalists and presenters won the Best Host(s) category for their audio offering Double J\u2019s\u00a0<em>Bang On<\/em>\u00a0where they debrief about music, art, life and stuff.<\/p>\n<p><em>Unravel Firebomb<\/em>\u00a0about Chinese restaurants being firebombed in Perth in the 1980\u2019s took out the stiff competition, including ABC\u2019s\u00a0<em>Stop and Search<\/em>\u00a0and Mamamia\u2019s\u00a0<em>True Crime Conversations<\/em>, to win the True Crime category award.<\/p>\n<p>The ABC was also successful in the Kids category winning the award for<em>\u00a0Play School: Ears On<\/em>, audio adventures<em>\u00a0<\/em>made for the broadcaster\u2019s littlest listeners.<\/p>\n<p>ABC Director Audio, Ben Latimer said: \u201cThe ABC continues to deliver creative and innovative content for our listeners across all ages in the podcast space.\u00a0 To be recognised at these awards demonstrates the high-quality podcasts and storytelling the ABC delivers to Australian listeners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You can find all of the ABC\u2019s podcasts, including radio, music and audiobooks, free on\u00a0<a class=\"Link_link__5eL5m ScreenReaderOnly_srLinkHint__OysWz Link_showVisited__C1Fea Link_showFocus__ALyv2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/listen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-component=\"Link\">ABC listen<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The ABC received five gongs, including Podcast of the Year, at the 2024 Australian Podcast Awards overnight which celebrates the nation\u2019s best podcasts and creators.
