{"id":889,"date":"2024-11-21T08:18:05","date_gmt":"2024-11-21T08:18:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.radioindustrynews.com.au\/?p=889"},"modified":"2024-11-21T08:18:05","modified_gmt":"2024-11-21T08:18:05","slug":"brigitte-duclos-joins-774-abc-melbourne-in-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/radioindustrynews.com.au\/index.php\/2024\/11\/21\/brigitte-duclos-joins-774-abc-melbourne-in-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Brigitte Duclos joins 774 ABC Melbourne in 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Radio veteran\u00a0<strong>Brigitte Duclos<\/strong>\u00a0will spearhead Afternoons on 774 ABC Melbourne in 2025 while\u00a0<strong>Charlie Pickering\u00a0<\/strong>will help us celebrate the end of the week with a new show on Fridays.<\/p>\n<p>Brigitte promises to bring great interviews and engaging conversations to your afternoon, having had a successful radio career spanning three decades.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRadio has been a 30-year passion of mine and I am so looking forward to getting back behind the microphone to deliver a show that informs, excites and, most of all, focuses on the topics important to Melbourne,\u201d Brigitte said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ABC listeners are the soul of this city and I look forward to them sharing their stories, struggles and triumphs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Current Afternoons presenter\u00a0<strong>Trevor Chappell\u00a0<\/strong>will return to his role as Overnights presenter in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Trevor said he had enjoyed presenting Afternoons but was looking forward to reconnecting with his Overnights audience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrev is one of the nicest men in radio and it\u2019s been a pleasure to have him around during the day,\u201d Acting Local Manager Shelley Hadfield said. \u201cHis national Overnights audience will be delighted to welcome him back into their nights. We are grateful to\u00a0<strong>Michael Pavlich\u00a0<\/strong>for being such good company to them during the past 18 months.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To wrap up the week and celebrate the start of the weekend,\u00a0<strong>Charlie Pickering<\/strong>\u00a0returns to 774 to host a new show on Fridays from 5-6pm. Thank God It\u2019s Friday (TGIF) will follow\u00a0<strong>Ali Moore\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0Drive program, bringing together comedy, music and the week\u2019s news in front of a live audience from our Southbank studios.<\/p>\n<p>In other news, station favourites\u00a0<strong>Jacinta Parsons<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Brian Nankervis<\/strong>\u00a0will get your weekend off to a great start, taking over Saturday morning programs.<\/p>\n<p>Brian will present Saturday Breakfast, with\u00a0<strong>Alice Zaslavsky<\/strong>\u00a0making the decision to step away from the show next year so she can spend weekends with her daughter.<\/p>\n<p>And, Jacinta will take over Saturday Mornings. Current presenter\u00a0<strong>Matt Preston<\/strong>\u00a0has announced he will step away from show next month after three years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve loved doing what is one of the best jobs in radio, so it has\u00a0been a tough decision,\u201d Matt said. \u201cI\u2019m so grateful to the people I\u2019ve worked with on the show and the top-level co-hosts that have taught me so much.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been lucky enough to interview so many of my heroes both old and new over the journey. And it has been priceless spending time with such an intelligent, passionate and often very funny audience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u2019s Cat and Matt show, with Matt and\u00a0<strong>Catherine Murphy<\/strong>, will wind up. Catherine will still appear on programs across the station.<\/p>\n<p>Alice Zaslavsky said helping Melbourne wake up every Saturday had been a privilege.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThough I\u2019ll be stepping away from the show, I won\u2019t be leaving the 774 family,\u201d Alice said. \u201cYou can look forward to hearing my voice as ABC\u2019s food guru, as well as the odd cameo back behind the mic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThank you to the Saturday Breakfast regulars \u2013 both our guests and our listeners, who have enriched our weekends with worthwhile tidbits. It\u2019s these voices and views that make a show like ours vibrate with vitality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jacinta and Brian will continue presenting The Friday Revue.<\/p>\n<p>Last week,\u00a0<strong>Sammy J\u00a0<\/strong>revealed he will finish up as Breakfast host next month, with award-winning journalist\u00a0<strong>Sharnelle Vella<\/strong>\u00a0and Western Bulldogs\u2019 great\u00a0<strong>Bob Murphy<\/strong>\u00a0set to wake up Melburnians in 2025 with a mix of news, sport, weather and fun.<\/p>\n<p>774 ABC Melbourne is excited by the new line up, which also includes\u00a0<strong>Raf Epstein<\/strong>\u00a0on Mornings (8.30am-11am),\u00a0<strong>Richelle Hunt<\/strong>\u00a0on The Conversation Hour (11am-noon),<strong>\u00a0Ali Moore<\/strong>\u00a0on Drive (3pm-6pm),\u00a0<strong>David Astle<\/strong>\u00a0on Evenings (6.45pm-10pm) and\u00a0<strong>Lisa Leong<\/strong>\u00a0on Sundays (10am-noon).<\/p>\n<p>Acting Local Manager Shelley Hadfield said it was hard to say goodbye to much loved presenters and colleagues and she had no doubt they would continue to be regulars on the station.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to shake things up with this new line-up and we are confident that it will hold us in good stead to make sure that we remain the voice of Melbourne,\u201d Shelley said.<\/p>\n<p>Brigitte will start presenting Afternoons over the summer break.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Radio veteran\u00a0Brigitte Duclos\u00a0will spearhead Afternoons on 774 ABC Melbourne in 2025 while\u00a0Charlie Pickering\u00a0will help us celebrate the end of the week with a new show on Fridays.
