Following his 2016 retirement from the AFL, Ellis transitioned to media, bringing his footy knowledge, sharp wit, and engaging personality to radio. He was part of the team that launched Triple M in Perth and is a favourite among Triple M listeners who enjoy his ability to balance detailed footy analysis with entertaining banter. Triple M listeners are also familiar with Ellis’ regular tales of playing in the 2008 AFL Grand Final and the lingering question about if he was ‘robbed’ of the Norm Smith medal; of course, this question is mostly raised by Ellis himself!

Ellis has been entertaining Perth on the Triple M Breakfast show for years and his willingness to poke fun at himself is the perfect match for co-host Katie Lamb who has racked up a legion of fans for her hilarious social media skits. Most recently the host of Triple M’s The Rush Hour, Lamb is a force in her own right who has spent more than a decade building her radio career.
