The much-anticipated reveal crowned &#8220;Down Under&#8221; by\u00a0<strong>Men at Work<\/strong>\u00a0as the Greatest Song of All Time.<\/p>\n<p>A panel of Triple M music experts rigorously curated the greatest songs of all time (GOAT), narrowing it down to the Top 600. The countdown played across the Triple M network for the past two weeks.\u00a0<strong>Dave Gleeson<\/strong>, frontman of rock band The Screaming Jets and host of Australia\u2019s #1 Night show\u00a0<em>Triple M Nights with Dave Gleeson<\/em>, and\u00a0<strong>\u2018Dangerous\u2019 Dave Williams<\/strong>,\u00a0<em>Triple M\u00a0<\/em>announcer, revealed the Top 20 songs in the countdown.<\/p>\n<p>The Triple M GOAT Countdown has various iterations, with previous formats crowning\u00a0<strong>Freddie Mercury<\/strong>\u00a0as Triple M\u2019s\u00a0<em>GOAT Singer<\/em>,\u00a0<strong>AC\/DC\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0&#8220;<em>Back in Black<\/em>&#8221; as the\u00a0<em>GOAT Album<\/em>, and 1987 as the greatest year in music history.<\/p>\n<p>INXS had the highest representation in the Top 600 Triple M GOAT songs with 18 entries, closely followed by U2 and Jimmy Barnes (including his solo and Cold Chisel hits), each contributing 17 songs to the countdown respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Following the reveal of \u201cDown Under\u201d as the countdown\u2019s top song,\u00a0<strong>Colin Hay<\/strong>, lead vocalist of Men at Work, said: \u201cThis announcement makes me feel very warm and fuzzy. \u2018Down Under\u2019 is one of those songs people can relate to\u2026 even people in Bolivia love it. This song is rooted in the earth. Thank you, Triple M, for this achievement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Head of Triple M Metro Content, Matthew O\u2019Reilly, said: \u201cTriple M delivers the greatest hits day in and day out.
