{"id":2820,"date":"2026-09-08T15:47:26","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T05:47:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radioindustrynews.com.au\/?p=2820"},"modified":"2026-09-08T15:47:26","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T05:47:26","slug":"2026-cbaa-board-nominations-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/radioindustrynews.com.au\/index.php\/2026\/09\/08\/2026-cbaa-board-nominations-open\/","title":{"rendered":"2026\u00a0CBAA Board Nominations Open"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The CBAA is calling for nominations for people interested in serving as a Director of the Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nominations close at 5.00pm AEST on&nbsp;Friday, 25&nbsp;September 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are&nbsp;four&nbsp;(4) Member Elected Director positions up for election this year.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Board has traditionally met six times a year, with a mix of face to face and virtual meetings.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The CBAA meets board members\u2019 travel and accommodation costs.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be eligible, you must be a person nominated by two (2) Permanent Community Broadcasting Members or Temporary Community Broadcasting Members of the CBAA.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nominees are expected to have a commitment to the ideals of community broadcasting, a solid knowledge of and interest in the development of community broadcasting as a national sector and commit to representing the interests of the whole sector \u2013 not just their station or a special interest group.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How to nominate<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nominees for all positions must contact Liz Freestone,&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:liz.freestone@cbaa.org.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">liz.freestone@cbaa.org.au<\/a>&nbsp;to obtain the nomination form (Nomination for the CBAA Board)&nbsp;and return the completed form via email no later than 5.00 pm AEST on&nbsp;Friday, 25&nbsp;September 2026.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2026&nbsp;CBAA Annual General Meeting will be held at 4:30pm AEDT&nbsp;in&nbsp;Geelong,&nbsp;Victoria&nbsp;on Friday,&nbsp;23&nbsp;October 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nominations close 28 days before the AGM and nomination forms must be completed correctly,&nbsp;containing&nbsp;a written profile (in third person) of no more than 150 words and attach a headshot photograph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The profile and photograph will be included in the election documentation that will be distributed by&nbsp;2&nbsp;October 2026. Nominees will also have an opportunity to record a brief introductory video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nominations will be checked to ensure they are valid nominations from eligible voting members.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>More information&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Further information is available to download below.
