{"id":2390,"date":"2026-03-13T11:27:19","date_gmt":"2026-03-13T00:27:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/radioindustrynews.com.au\/?p=2390"},"modified":"2026-03-13T11:27:19","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T00:27:19","slug":"community-radio-plus-you-played-it-and-your-listeners-responded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/radioindustrynews.com.au\/index.php\/2026\/03\/13\/community-radio-plus-you-played-it-and-your-listeners-responded\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Radio Plus: You played it and\u00a0your listeners responded"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Over&nbsp;summer,&nbsp;community broadcasters around the country aired&nbsp;a coordinated series of promos&nbsp;for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbaa.org.au\/news\/cbaa-comms\/2026\/03\/12\/community-radio-plus\">Community Radio Plus<\/a>&nbsp;to boost listener awareness and encourage app usage&nbsp;for each stations\u2019 audiences.&nbsp;This has been the third year in a row that&nbsp;we\u2019ve&nbsp;pushed these promos,&nbsp;to remind listeners that they can take your stations with them wherever they are during their summer breaks.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stations were invited to play the professionally produced promos&nbsp;at least 21 times per week.&nbsp;A number of&nbsp;stations&nbsp;created their&nbsp;own unique promos, including&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.southernfm.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">88.3 Southern FM<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.4crb.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">4CRB<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>135&nbsp;stations played more than&nbsp;44k&nbsp;promos during the&nbsp;period&nbsp;\u2013 a big lift from the&nbsp;20k&nbsp;plays the&nbsp;previous&nbsp;summer. The average number of plays per station also increased from 214&nbsp;to 310.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Campaign data showed encouraging listening behaviour across the network. Average listening time increased from 15.9 minutes to 16.6 minutes, suggesting listeners who tuned in through the app stayed connected for longer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While summer listening patterns tend to shift as audiences travel and change routines, the data shows positive signs at the station level.&nbsp;<strong>Stations that promoted the campaign were&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>more likely to see growth in their listening metrics<\/strong>, with:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>43% of promoted stations recording listener growth, compared with 38% of non-promoted stations\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>48% of promoted stations recording session growth, compared with 42% of non-promoted stations\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These results suggest that campaign promotion helped more stations grow their digital audiences, even during a season when overall listening typically fluctuates&nbsp;or decreases.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Smaller&nbsp;stations&nbsp;were particularly&nbsp;well represented.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.southernfm.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">88.3 Southern FM<\/a>&nbsp;topped the chart with&nbsp;3,572&nbsp;promo plays.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/keppelfm.org.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">KeppelFM<\/a>&nbsp;also got involved, airing 1,835&nbsp;promos.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.2miafm.org.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2MIA<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.2dryfm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2DRY FM<\/a>&nbsp;ended up winning the random&nbsp;prize draw of a $250 JB&nbsp;Hi-FI&nbsp;gift voucher!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thanks to everyone who took part!&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><\/strong>The&nbsp;Community Radio Plus&nbsp;app&nbsp;gives listeners a simple, central way to tune in to&nbsp;your station,&nbsp;wherever they&nbsp;might be.
