Nine\u2019s podcast network, 9Podcasts, has leapt up Australian Podcast Ranker to take the No.5 spot for sales representation nationally, with 1,387,096 monthly listeners and 3,635,692 monthly downloads in May 2024.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Ben Fordham Live<\/strong>\u00a0catch up podcast was Nine\u2019s highest ranking podcast at\u00a0No.29 on the Australian Top Podcast Ranke<\/strong>r\u00a0<\/strong>(up 3 positions in May), attracting more than 194,000 listeners and 388,000 downloads.<\/p>\n

Over on the\u00a0Australian-made<\/a>\u00a0podcast ranker, Nine\u2019s new investigative journalism podcast,\u00a0The Missing Campers Trial<\/strong>\u00a0debuted at No.53; ACRA winning series\u00a0Stories of Origin<\/strong>\u00a0made a return to the top All Australian Made ranker at No.142, and\u00a0Footy Classified<\/strong>\u00a0jumped the most positions in the ranker across Nine\u2019s stable, up 14 places this month.<\/p>\n

Nine\u2019s Head of Podcasts and Digital Content<\/strong>,\u00a0Mia Stern<\/strong>\u00a0said: \u201cThe surge in listeners across 9Podcasts\u2019 slate of programs is testament to Nine\u2019s purpose \u2013 Australia Belongs Here \u2013 and our commitment to showcasing the richness and diversity of Australian news, stories and cultural moments like no other local media organisation can.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This commitment was reinforced further this month with the 9Podcasts and 9News Queensland podcast collaboration,\u00a0Hannah\u2019s Story<\/em><\/strong>,<\/em>\u00a0taking home a prestigious Mid-Year Walkley Award for Excellence in Journalism.<\/p>\n

Presenter Melissa Downes, producer Jessica Lodge, and editor Adam Buncher were awarded with the\u00a0Our Watch Award for Excellence in Reporting on Violence Against Women for the compelling series,\u00a0<\/strong>which has dominated the Australian podcast charts and resonated globally, earning numerous national and international accolades, including the Kennedy Award for Outstanding Podcast, the Spotlight category at the Australian Podcast Awards, and the Best Narrative Documentary podcast at the renowned New York Festival Radio Awards.<\/p>\n
