Lam will present&nbsp;<em>The Art of the Piano<\/em>&nbsp;on Sunday evenings, while Sales will host a new Saturday program during the anniversary months, bringing her warmth, insight, and passion for classical music to audiences nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The celebrations begin on&nbsp;<strong>Saturday<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>24 January<\/strong>, the anniversary of ABC Classic\u2019s first broadcast. The day will feature a curated retrospective of the network\u2019s rich history, including archival recordings, \u2018best of\u2019 live concerts, tributes from past and present presenters, listener stories, and memorable moments from five decades of sharing classical music with Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key 50th activity across the year<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A celebratory day of programs on\u00a0<strong>Saturday 24 January<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A very special edition of the\u00a0<strong>ABC Classic 100 countdown<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The much-anticipated return of the\u00a0<strong>ABC Young Performers Awards (YPAs)\u00a0<\/strong>supported by a new\u00a0<strong>Young Performers<\/strong>\u00a0program throughout the year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>50 Classical Icons \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>a weekly program featuring\u00a0iconic classical musicians who have shaped the genre<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A landmark birthday concert at the\u00a0<strong>Sidney Myer Music Bowl<\/strong>, broadcast live<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A new\u00a0<strong>music commissioning<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>scheme<\/strong>\u00a0to champion a wider spectrum of Australian composers, from emerging voices to established figures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Head of ABC Classic and ABC Jazz, Philip Noyce, said: \u201cIt\u2019s an honour to be part of ABC Classic at such a significant moment in our history.
