Graduate Diploma of Radio and Podcasting<\/a>\u00a0students from the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) are live on air until Saturday June 22<\/span>nd<\/span>\u00a0with regional pop-up broadcast:\u00a02NRS<\/a>. With a focus on the Illawarra, the students are going to air with the latest news, local stories and\u00a0community events from across the region.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is AFTRS\u2019 second live broadcast of the year \u2013 after\u00a0<\/span>Show Radio<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in April \u2013 and the students are again stepping up on all fronts, running the broadcast as well as podcasts, social media and branding with 2NRS \u2013 Hits Different.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Industry professionals from across the country are lending their support\u00a0and expertise as aircheckers and mentors, including Blair Woodcock, Jase Allen, Barry Keohane, Moyra Major, Olivia Scott, Melissa Femia, Rohan Edwards, Dani Torresan and Ryan Pemberton.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Blair Woodcock, Head of Regional Content, SCA said,<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe AFTRS Radio program, particularly the 2NRS assignment provides an immersive experience where the students use their learned skills and gain a deeper understanding of life in a real regional radio environment, both on-air, and behind the scenes. I\u2019m thrilled to be a part of the journey, helping shape, nurture and develop the next generation of Radio professionals\u2019 industry who will continue to make this industry great.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Graduate Diploma of Radio and Podcasting student Grace Cooper said,<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been doing breakfast news this week and have really enjoyed it. I have already learned so much and have had the opportunity to work closely with industry professionals who provide valuable feedback on our work. It\u2019s been an amazing experience so far, and I am looking forward to the rest of the broadcast. Even though I\u2019ve had to get up at 5:30am, I genuinely get excited to do breakfast news!\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
