One of Australia\u2019s most popular podcasts,\u00a0The Imperfects,\u00a0<\/em>is back for Season 7, with new episodes dropping from 10 February via its new home, LiSTNR.<\/p>\n

Season 7 of\u00a0The Imperfects\u00a0<\/em>will kick off with legendary Australian surfer,\u00a0Mick Fanning<\/strong>, sitting down to chat vulnerably about mental health, loss, grief, connection and resilience with hosts\u00a0Hugh van Cuylenburg, Ryan Shelton\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Josh van Cuylenburg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Fanning has experienced soaring highs and crushing lows both in his time as a professional surfer and in his life away from the public eye. He has lost all three of his brothers in separate tragic incidents, and in 2015 was catapulted to global attention when he had an encounter with a great white shark while competing in a surfing competition in South Africa. While the incident cemented Fanning as \u2018legendary\u2019 in many people\u2019s minds, he admits on the podcast the heaviness he felt in its aftermath and the ongoing struggles he had to confront as a result.\u00a0His episode of\u00a0The Imperfects<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/em>explores how he\u2019s managed to keep moving forward in his life, despite the many and varied challenges he\u2019s faced.<\/p>\n

The Imperfects\u00a0<\/em>has become one of Australia\u2019s most popular and thought-provoking podcasts which has tackled everything from living with\u00a0ADHD<\/a>,\u00a0post-natal depression<\/a>,\u00a0menopause<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0dementia<\/a>. As well as modelling how men can have imperfect conversations about big topics, such as\u00a0toxic masculinity<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0men\u2019s violence<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Each episode sees guests open up about their vulnerabilities, imperfections and struggles, as well as sharing any wisdom they have learned along the way. Previous guests include Grace Tame, Zan Rowe, Hamish Blake, Billy Slater and Urzila Carlson.<\/p>\n

When we did our first-ever episode with Missy Higgins, I asked everyone to sit outside the room so no one could hear, I was that self conscious. Now I allow other people to be in the room.
